I would like to know if Lucas Octane Boost realy works or is it money down the drain.
How much better does your car or truck ran when adding Lucas Octane Boost to your gas?
What do you like about it and what don't you like about it?
Also I see that they have Lucas Tran Fix, If your tansamision is working ok would you add it to your transmision and would it be a help or a disable to it? What is your feeling on this.
The Lucas Octane Boost stuff might work to clean out your fuel system and possibly provide some upper cylinder cleaning and lubrication which might help improve performance if things are a little dirty, but if your looking for an increase in power in your stock engine by virtue of the increased octane than you will be disappointed, since that isn't really how it works. You'd have to advance the timing and/or increase the compression in your engine in order to take advantage of the higher octane rating, the former being possible only with a chip or tuner and the latter only with a rebuild and some substantive modifications.
The Lucas Trans Fix is a good band-aid for an old, tired auto tranny which is beginning to slip and on the decline. Otherwise, it is not necessary and in fact I would recommend sticking with OEM-approved ATF and no additives.
FWIW, you might try browsing the Oil & Lube Forum, Lucas and other lube-related products get discussed over there all the time.
You meantioned cylinder cleaning and lubrication, What would be a very good cylinder cleaner and lubrication? Should I say who make the best Cylinder Cleaner and Lubrication?
I have a 1999 Ford ranger 4 cylinder.
You also said that Lucas Octane Boost would clean the fuel system, is it better than what they call Fuel system cleaner, who makes the best fuel system cleaner?
