Hi, I was just wondering why headers from an 80's Ford pickup and headers from a 70's Ford won't interchange. Did they change the frame or cross members? This question is basically referring to the 351M/400. I know where I can get a set of headers that fit a 70's Ford 4wd. My truck is an 85 Ford F150 2wd. Thanks, Dusty.
the frame geometry is different, the suspension is different, one is four wheel peel, the other is two wheel peel, it just makes sence. just go and buy a set of hedmann headers. thats what im running in my 79 f150 4wd. no clearance problems at all.

Hi Willow, did you use the shorties, long tubes, or fenderwell exit tubes ? thanks. The long headers I tried to make work, end up with the collector flange running right in to the crossover member for the t case. Who would make long tube headers ( no fenderwell cuts) for the 79 f 150 351 m np 435 trans, np203 TC ??
they are long tube header that run with the fenderwells. the flanges are close the the crossmember, but there is no problem with them. hedmann man, they are the best!

Genius. Must have taken you quite some time to figure that one out...
Adam,
You might try a post in the 80-86 truck forum, since your truck is an 85. Call Jeg's or Summit...they both have many products that are not listed in the catalogs..
