That is why I recently installed a auto-start in my 96'. It is nice to be able to let her idle without the keys in the ignition. Our Excursion also has a auto-start. I don't really use the start function much but it is nice to be able to hit the button and pull the keys with the engine still running.

Yep Crumm...that's my next "mod" for both our Ex's...autostarts. I sure miss the one I had on my old Jeep! Got so used to just pushing the button I almost forgot where the key goes into the ignition! LOL!
But it sure is nice on a cold Alaska morning to start the ride from my nice warm bedroom! Next month hopefully...

Hey Crumm,
Well we will be going with Auto Trim Designs autostart...we had them before and had no troubles. Plus they do the install so I don't have to worry about it. Lifetime guarantee on the start and the labor - and if I tried to do it, it would cost a lot more...with someone else having to fix my screw ups and then install it right the second time anyway!

They are fairly easy to install, just time consuming. As long as you can follow instructions, can tell one color from another and have some basic wiring skills you can do it. If you are going to get it installed I would definitely recommend Auto-Trim, they have been installing them for years. Many company's have came and gone but they have stood the test of time. They also have very good customer service if you ever have a problem.
