scared about getting ripped off

how could you tell if someone took an f350 emblem and put it on a 250 and tries to sell it to an idiot
ie me

Look in the door jam, it should say, also look for the GVWR, if it is 8600 then it is a 250, I believe the 350s are 9600# GVWR.

You could just check the vin number or axle codes to determine whether or not it's a 3/4 or 1 ton. I'm not sure what code would be what, but I'll bet somebody here will know.

Run the vin number through carfax. You do not even have to pay to get basic info - like what it is and the year model and make.

Or send the VIN to ford for a check.

Don't know if the door sticker tells you or not - will have to check mine in the AM.

Obviously it is a srw (single rear wheel). Dual rear wheels would defintiely be a F350.

Just some thoughts off the top o' me head.
