do any of you wise souls know where to get a camera & monitor for my 05 f350 psd to monitor my horses inside the trailer and use as back up for behind trailer & truck
and be used as a dvd/tv? is it even possible?
thanks mike
I've seen motorhome's with a camera like you described used for backing up. So an RV supply might be a good place to start looking.
You could also check out a discount electronic's store. They sell inexpensive security camera kit's that contain several wireless camera's which would be perfect for your purpose. With 2 camera's you could alternate between horse's and backups. You would just have to make sure that the reciever could be made to run with a 12V system and then run the video out to a little dvd/monitor inside the cab.
Welcome to FTE and thanks for joining us in the Towing forum!
Check out Costco if you have one close. They have several security camera set-ups for sale. One I saw has a split screen monitor and comes with two cameras. You could probably connect it to the truck 12V electrical system. That's out of my capabilities. Anyone have any advice, experience with this??
go to the search site and check for rear cameras,, there are many towing 5th wheels that have installed rear monitors to see what is behind them,, should work well for the horses,,
See if you can find a portable DVD player (most all of these will run on 12 VDC), that has an aux video input. You could also use a laptop, as some have DVD players and aux video input. Just get a camera and plug it in.
There are also wireless "baby monitors" camera systems that run on batterys. B/W and no DVD. JM2C -Rob-
Use a rear camara system. Theres a company called Rostra make a camara system that replaces the rear view mirror with one with a moniter in it. The camaras can be mounted anywhere.
