Back-up camera on the PDA screen.

Thats a tall call.

Here's what you could look for.

A camera attachment to the pda then extend the connection to the rear of the truck. My only concern with that is a loss of signal with a wire run that long.

there are plenty of good and cheap cameras out there.

I used an Voyager 40 from a camper on my Excursion. Works like a champ at around 80 bucks.

I also installed a key-hole cam that I got off eBay for 25 bucks in the wifes truck. Still has a great picture, and If i didn't know better from the X I would say it's great.

Both my trucks have video screens so that is also something to look at when getting a camera.

Screens really vary in quality from brand to brand.

I think that you will be sorely disappointed with using the pda monitor -- if it can be done.

You should consider a dedicated system which besides being easier to use, will perform better.

See: www.rvcams.com

I have cams on most of the fleet. This is what is on the '08. It has a 7" monitor.

This shows the split screen, which is overkill for hooking up a trailer, but rather handy for our application.

i got a home security camera and a 7 inch screen, the only hard part about the security camera is that the screen has to be able to flip the image left to right because the camera is reveresed when displayed in that direction...

I will only use it when hooking up trailers and I don't want more stuff in the cab, that's why I want to use the PDA.

Banks has nothing.

One option that I did was to change my stereo to a Pioneer avic-D3. It has a nice big screen that is for DVD's, Navigation, stereo controls, and backup cameras.

This way I don't have extra units all over my dash, It does it all !!!

getting a camera to work on you PDA will look something like this.

http://www.amazon.com/Casio-CompactF.../dp/B00004T2LF

Unless you can find some sort of video feed in type card for your pda, I think your out of luck.

If you can find the part that gives you a little yellow rca in to the PDA, I can give you a hundred different cameras to use.

Guys:
I have the factory camera in my tailgate. I'm installing a Husky Liner Aluminium flo-thru 5th wheel tailgate. I need to get another camera, I checked locally and was told that aftermarket cameras won't work with the Ford set up. There is a module that can be hooked up to the GPS in the dash that allows 2 video feeds (camera-DVD) to play in the GPS screen. The module is about $400 then the camera is $150.

I think I'll just buy the FoMoCo camera and mount it in front of my 5th wheel hitch to see to hook up. The Ford camera lists for $318.89 That's about the cheapest way I can go.
