Well I took it to the dealer on thursday, they had the truck all day from 6:30 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening and supposedly 2 or more mechanics looked at the truck and could not find anything wrong with it. They told me that since the truck wasn't making the noise when I brought it in, there was nothing that they could do or find. So as long as the truck dosen't blow up as a result of this I'm just going to deal with it. Sorry that I couldn't find out more about this, like what actually causes this noise to help you guys out. Thanks again for your help and your thoughts, I really appreciate it all.
Cmefly04v10,
Big Orn said something about the A/C compressor. When you start it up, do you have your A/C or heat componants on (say from the night before)? If so, turn them off at night and see if the engine makes that sound the next morning with the A/C dissengaged. Just a thought!!!! Take it easy.
