Unhappy i need help

this is the story i bought an early model 99 350 when i bought it the truck ran fine cranked fine even with the two new but small 600 cca batteries. then a couple weeks later it started to take alittle bit longer to crank on first crank of the day and started to smoke after cranked for just a minute then clear up.
i replaced gpr with no response. truck started smoking a little bit heavyer and little bit longer. had truck scanned . scann showed glow plugs and icps, replaced icps from international no change to truck smoking .also let me add that with truck running even after hot and not smoking there was a heavy diesel smell coming from exhuast, even mechanic from international thought exhaust smelt [a little rich] truck would quit smoking after you hit main road and blew it out with turbo . then truck gradually keep going down hill from november to now
so i replaced bateries with 2 new 1000ca 875cca bateries engine spins faster still wants to catch the catches but still starts under 5secs but has since started smoke worse and longer and started to lose power and skip and lunge a little and tonite when i drove it it smoke more and cleared out mostley but not completly and was skipping and smoking every time i took off from a start and just felt like it was running off of 7 cylinders no power spitting smoking worse when under load and engine seemed louder all nite felt like engine was under heavy load all the time also sometimes when i was coming to a stop the engine would fall way down around 500rpm's then all of a sudden catch itself really quick and every time i took off it would kinda skip
with no power and then kinda sraighten out but could tell it was not just right the when i would let it idle for about how long it took me to unhook my goose neck it was smoking again enuff to see in the street lite so thats my story
and im smokin to it please any body HELP

First thought.......Injector o-rings. Could be losing high pressure oil into the combustion chamber.

Correct. It is the sensor towards the front of the drivers side head, behind the alternator. Three wire plug.

It could be an actual pressure problem. That would mean a problem with the high pressure oil pump, or the regulator. It could also be a faulty injector wiring harness, but that *should* set a seperate code.

I'm still thinking it's the o-rings due primarily to the increased engine noise and smoke, but it's past my bed time and I might be missing something obvious.

You have not mentioned what color the smoke is. Go here for smoke Analysis: http://pages.prodigy.net/stevebaz/_i...az/index3.html
(look just about at the bottom of the page).
Did you inspect your fuel filter? Is it black or really dark colored? Then I would say O-rings. Check the electrical connectors to the wiring harness for the glow plugs/injectors – are they burnt or melted looking? Then your wiring harness under the valve covers is probably fried. You could pull the valve covers off (not a fun job) and visually check the harness under there. Good luck – tell us what you find.

I second Cookie88's thought - injector o-rings. And I just got up so I am fresh and rested!

this truck has been a problem since i bought it in nov 04 i am very disapointed in this truck i cant afford to keep sinking thousands of dollars into this truck while still making the 400.00 a month payment on it if ford cant straighten it out fairly resonable then i have no choice but let the bank come back and get this big piece of **** its a 4 ton paper weight sitting in the drive way right now
