Reason: change
C4- aluminum, detatchable bellhousing, square pan. Never heard of one on an FE engine but nothing shocks me anymore.
C6- all aluminum, one piece case, pan has kind of a hump. Possibly what you have.
FMX- Aluminum bellhousing that is removable, cast iron case, aluminum tailshaft housing. Another possibility. Decent transmission but not very desirable due to lack of aftermarket support. Although sure that goes hand in hand. Put it this way. I have one I can't even give away.
thanks derick. it is aC6. ithas a one piece case . i took it out of the truck to get some seals fixed while i had engine rebuilt, set it on the tailgate ,woke up the next morning the transmission was laying on the concrete and the aluminum housing broke. it wasnt agood sight to see. now im checking on getting rebuilt one i dont guess anyone will take it as a core. any suggetions about changes before i call around. it goes in 76 F100 with 360 engine? thanks for your help.
