Those that swing up like the Mercedes are called Gull-wing doors.

That would be cool too, But i heard, well this is if you buy it, not fab it yourself, the hood and front clip are all one peice and they arent that great, they rattle alot, are a little sloppy or something.
Im sure it wouldnt be too hard to rig up the hood to open opposite way, but then that would be a bit of a pain workin on the motor that way wouldnt it??

Im still interested int he doors.

Do a search in this forum for "tilt clip" and you'll find plenty of good info.

No idea on the fancy pants doors. I've always thought they'd be harder to get in and out of.

Id like to go with the fancy lamborghini style doors, Not so much the suicide, i got a thinking, when in the mud I like to open my door ( i dontknow why) and that would just be messy, a nice path for all the mud to coem right into the cab.

Gullwing or suicude doors have been on my "cool yet useless mods" list for some time. I think you can actually buy hinge & latch kits for the suicide doors for older ford trucks. I saw them on some ricer website a while back.

I'm thinking that gullwing doors would be less impractical than suicide doors, but not by much. They'd probably be easier to make too. I've also considered minivan-like sliding doors, vertical lift doors, and the tilt up/forward ones like the Lambroghini (sp?). Cool and different yet pointless and impractical.

When I do mine, it will be to improve the current design and not JUST for show (well, mostly for show, but I have to be able to justify the mod somehow). I've been stuck between trees/in deep holes and unable to open the doors too many times. And squeezin' my fat **** out the sliding rear window aint the easiest thing to do. So the way I do the doors will eliminate that problem.

As for tilt hoods, USbody makes a one-piece fiberglass clip with (I think) a 78/79 grille. It's pretty spendy, too. I prefer to do it myself because I'm cheap and have nothing better to do with my time. Also, because someone said I couldn't do it. I have a pic in my gallery (in the 'justpix' album).

Kevin, do you still have a website with all your pics? I had the tilt front end page bookmarked but it's gone now. I'm going to do mine up this spring.
