No boost at idle here either. I really don't think you should be showing boost unless the engine is under load.

every diesel i have ever built has held boost at all times
the ford tractor i built sits at cold idle on a 65 deg day holding almost 9 lbs of boost.

wanna guess what happes to a 45lb boost gauge when u take off? haha

at full fuel and full load on the track, 90+ is common.

when u de-fuel at the end of a pull it sits on the 15-16 mark at idle for about 3 minutes

No mods - stock with original flash.
There is probably a small positive pressure in the intercooler and manifold, but the gauge (35 PSI DiPricol) probably isn't sensitive enough to show it. Gauge is hooked into the MAP sensor line.

Factory boost gauge on my 2005 Harley shows 0 at idle and max about 30. Not sure hoe accurate it is, but looks cool in the gauge cluster

I don't show any boost at idle, max has been around 30. I tapped the intake elbow and I have autometer ultralite gauges.

Bighoss...thanks,

This is what I found:

The only time you will see boost at idle on a 6.0 is if the computer is
closing the variable geometry vanes to act as an exhaust backpressure valve.
Other than that, you would have to rev up a 6.0 to see any boost in neutral.

If the factory gage is like the rest it is not worth much.

Mine is Autometer mine is hooked to the line that goes to the MAP sensor. Mine is a 60 pound gage so it doesn't show much at idle. I tried a vacume/pressure gage first because I had the gage off a blower car. It showed 1-2 pounds at idle.
The most I've noticed is 34 lbs. with a Predator on 65 HP.

1Wheel - mine shows like yours with the factory guage - nothing at idle and maybe a couple pounds more than yours at full blast.

I would have to agree that at very little boost or none it will depend on the guage. I have an X-Monitor and mine shows .3-.9 at idle 35.9 at max.
