Jetact, did you just splice into one of the four wires that show in engine compartment. And are the wires already connected to the upfitter switches in the truck?
Yes there are 4 wires that go through the fire wall. Then you have to connect the one you used to the switch wire you want to use. Both sets of wires are just deadheaded behind the fuse box
I got all my upfitter switches wired up today. It's a pain that ford didn't connect them to the wires that go through the firewall. That would have simplifyed connection. I have to say that these switches keep the interior much neater that before when you had to drill and add toggle switches for accesories.
I was wanting to get these but did not come with my truck so now I need to add them. Right now my only idea is for a perm mounted power inverter, get some AC plugs in the trucks. I think these switches would work perfect for it.
Ohms law states that those lights would draw 7 to 8 amps. If they are 100 watts each, you definitely need the 30 amp. Even if they only sucked down a total of 8 amps, I'd still bank on the 30 amp switch as cold weather, lower operating voltage, or initial start-up current could bring you over 10 amp limit.
Why would ford put in a 30 amp fuse w/o suitable wiring? Or is this just a rhetorical question... What guage is the wire (I haven't looked at mine yet)?

Antacus, The rest of these guys have 05's. Is your truck an 04 or an 05? I read the instructions for the 05 install. And it doesn't look like the same for the 04. I'll have to talk to my dealer parts guru. I want to install these too.
Lemie see... Winch control, auxiliary backup lights, driving lights... Ejection seats in the back.... Those hidden missiles for tailgators, two gallon oil dump out the back. Oh, and I'll need one switch to turn on my PSD silent running equipment.
