Any non-lethal ways to shut up a neighbor's roosters? At least two of them about 600 feet away. They crow incessantly. I mean NEVER stop. And, this is from 3 am to dark. I can hear them inside with all windows and doors closed and the storm door only at the front. Come spring, I am considering calling the sheriff when they wake me up at 3 am. No different than a dog that barks all night, right? I'm out in the country and the neighbor's argument is this gives him the right. My argument is I should be able to sleep with my dang windows open. Or, do I just buy one of those low rider bass boomer things and let him get used to hip hop (I'd almost rather hear that than the roosters)?
I got to find a way to silence the roosters
or fight fire with fire.
I used to raise chickens. I never found a way to keep a rooster quiet. They were less noisy when they were in a coop with alot of hens to keep them busy. If it is your next door neighbor, maybe you should have a chat with the sheriff to find out your rights, and then maybe have a chat with your neighbor. Making your neighbor an enemy over a rooster might not be worth it. If all else fails, a good pellet gun is quiet. Good luck.
I think fried rooster is one of them "lethal" means he was trying to avoid.
My brother had a bunch of danged chickens running around his place last summer and he also had a couple roosters that constantly had to shoot off their beak .... so to speak. One of them sounded like he was choking to death every time he crowed ... was almost humorous. He finally got tired of them and gave them all to a couple ladies who live out in the sticks. Messy critters, they are. We used to raise chickens when I was a kid .... now I know why we quit.
My dad used to raise game *****. Used to have about 100 of them right outside my window..........it sucked. But eventually you'll tune it out. Its got to be better than car alarms or police sirens? I heard about a case like this that went to court, I think it was "noise polution" or something, can't remember who won.
i live in the country also but our town says so many acres to have any farm animal. maybe just a check of the township laws regarding farm animals , we had some nearby and it turned out he did not have enough property. legal way if so found

This reminds me of my younger days......
A friends mother had a Tom Turkey she kept as a pet. This turkey was free to run about the yard during the day & came into the house at night. Just like a pet dog or cat.
Well good ole Tom Turkey was a ornry fuss & hated us kids, her son was also on his hated list. For some reason Tom would come after us & attack us everytime we were around. He never bothered to grown up folks though, just us kids.
One weekend Donna (Tom Turkey's Master) left us the house while she went on a mini vacation. There was a few of us sitting around having a couple drinks & smoking some of those cigarettes that make you feel funny & give you the munchies.
During our social event, Tom Turkey went wild. He started chasing after everyone & went into attack mode on a girl that everyone knew (she got around & we were 17). To make a long story short, Tom Turkey disappeared quicker then Jimmy Hoffa & still hasn't been found.
Deep Fried Turkey Is The Best When You Got The Munchies!!!!
