mounts are the same other than that yes there have been changes you could do a search because Iknow I have posted this before, but basically up until 1970 they had a 10.300 deck hieght, 71-78 it was raised to 10.31, adn after 79 it was 10.32 also in 79 they went ot external balance cranks. you can put the external balance crank in the earlier blocks but not viceversa, and the 79 blocks have a 3/16" longer cyl wall. Also the 1970 blocks (Dove-c blocks) have thicker main webbing, ans some are also 4bolt blocks (which was also on other years but that is the one most people look for)
Basically other than that do a search there is a book on heads, and other differences, and since you didn't say what specificallly you are wanting to know I am not going to put all the differences on here other than to say you can't run FI heads on a carbed vehicle
