well my truck has been parked for months now cause i bought a stang awhile ago. I put my truck up on the hoist to check my front end out. (it used to have really bad control driving) i grabbed my tire and it shook really easily. in both directions, up, down and sideways.
now i thought if you could move it up and down, then its tie rods, and side to side it would be ball joints. i dont see any play in either of them when i move it. it almost seemed like the lug nuts were really loose, but that wasnt it. i switched my 2 front tires and wheels around and still happens on the one side, so its definetly not the wheel.
Ball joints.
Lift the truck where the tire is an inch off the ground stick a pry bar under the tire and see if it moves up and down. If it does it's the ball joints.
I had the same problem 2 weeks ago and it was the ball joints. Both sides of mine were bad but well worth the repair and it was alot easier than I orginally thought it would be. Here is a link from when I had the problem read the whole link there is a bunch of info in it. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=331176
