Mpg & rear end clutch pads

My 04 F150 Lariat 5.4 was getting about 15mpg on average (mix of highway and city driving). Both my clutch packs went bad in the rear end...ford fixed, but now my mpg has dropped down to 12mpg. Any ideas or help???????????

If they reflashed the PCM when they fixed your gears that could be the cause, my mileage went down the tubes after the flash for delayed pedel fix.

Should these messages be e-mail only? They pop up every new user on the board and seem to interupt the flow of the conversation. Sorry about the complaint.

When I bought my 04 STX I was LUCKY to get 15 mpg on the highway and now that I have almost 11,000 miles on her I am getting an average of 17-18 mpg on the highway. Thats also going around 75 mph too. If I let off the gas pedal I am sure I would get better gas milage.
