Need help with '84 300-6 kickdown stuff!!!
I need to know how the kickdown linkage attaches to the carb (Carter 1 barrel) on my '84 300-6. It's a red rod that runs down to the drivers side of the tranny. If I'm not mistaken, the kickdown linkage has something to do with passing gear. I had questions about this since I could "floor it" and It wouldn't go into a passing gear. I just bought this truck, I do all my own work on it.Another thing is- how can you tell what tranny you have, Mine doesn't have overdrive. C-6,C-4 ??? I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this issue.
