Cam Phase Sensor??????
I have had my '04 screw for about nine months and have 26000 mi on it. I love my truck and have no complaints with the quality. I am having a small problem that no one can identify. When I am pulling a trailer or go into passing gear up hill under full throttle, the emissions light starts blinking so I lay off the throttle until it goes off. At that point the engine starts to miss and shake for about 3 seconds. After it resets it goes back to normal and cruises on its merry way. This is almost stupid because it has only happened about 5 times. On flat ground under full throttle accelleration it will pull hard all the way up to the limiter at 105-115mph (I can't remember which one it was) with no problems. I've gone doors first in the mud and 4 wheelin in the snow and above it!!! yeee-haww. It has no drivability issues or other problems. I was reading another thread on a Cam Phase sensor tsb for a slight knock at idle. My truck does have that knock. Are these related? Has anyone else had this problem. Ford wanted to tear down the entire top end of the motor just to look and I told them no. I know the answer will turn up in the form of a tsb or recall.
