ENGINE CASTING HELP.....NUMBERS ARE HERE HELP PLEASE
I just got my hands on this engine. I was told it was out of an 85 Lincoln....can anybody help??

THEN THERE IS ANOTHER NUMBER THAT IS MUCH LARGER IT LOOKS LIKE IT COOULD BE 10 OR 01 CAN SOMEBODY ID IT? THANKS A MILLION...

I to have a motor that i need to know what block it is its one of the 4 inch bore motors i think.
the casting number is D2OE-8015-AB-as far as i know its from a 72' failane
82' Flareside: zoom zoom doesn't even begin to describe it
2/4 Drop
Soon to have 325hp 351 Clevo
(maybe more,in a 3600lb truck)
Backed by a C6 with a 2000 rpm stall and a 3.50 9 incher
American Racing AR-23 (series 23) wheels
Upgraded interior
Soon to have a kick @$$ stereo

Where is the oil pressure sending unit mounted,on the back of the block or near the oil filter?
Also, The block number would be 6015 not 8015.
This engine,do you just have the block or are there heads too?
If you have the heads too,How many valve cover bolts per head?

Okay D=7 2=2 the next letter O tells us your engine did come out of a Fairlane D2OE
there are a variety of ways to id what family your engine is from as well being a 72 4 inch bore it could be 302,351W,351C,400M

302 versus 351W -
The give-away is the height of the intake seal above the distributor hole.
302 engines are closer than 351W's....
A big block would be way more massive, and the mounts different.

EO = 1980 A = Large car family E = Engine family of parts
The AE suffix denotes many design change ups.
Why not look for a 70's style 302 and you will get everything you need to work ?

Here I go again. So the engine in my 86 is as follows

IS THIS A 1980 GENERIC?
I am swapping stuff between an 85 and the bck listed below. The water pumps are different...I have to change the timing case cover also...is this a pain in the *** or what! Now while I am doing this....can I buy a different timing cover with an inlet for a mechanical feul pump? Currently both of these engines are the type that have the feul pump blocked....actually it is molded. So can I do this??? I am going to run with a carb......Can I use the feul pump for a 600 edel perf?
