I have two complete setups - a 79 carbed 300 and an 88 efi 300. The 88 is no good, but want to put the efi onto the 79. Are the blocks interchangeable? Both are manual transmissions.
later (EFI) engines dont have clutch pivot boss on the block
use an early block and EFI head and electronics
or fabricate clutch bracket/hydraulic setup
return line in gas tank/fuel pump
the rest should be easy he he
I had a 1990 F-150 and i used a 72 longblock with no problems, the AIR system had to go ( no smog ports in the heads) i used every thing off the new motor, brakects, alternator.... There was an intake support stamped out that used to run up the spark plug side of teh head i had to fabricate a new one to support the intake other than that i don't remeber it being any harder than a normal engine change.
