What is a Z71?
I wondering about late model Chevy 4x4 trucks.
What is so special about Z71 4x4s versus those other Chevy trucks that just have 4x4 badges on the bedside?
Is the Z71 option a drivetrain or engine package, because all of the Chevys look about the same to me on the outside.

It's a 4x4 offroad package. Not sure about what's in them, but probably just skid plates, maybe some mechanical stuff like a ls differential or special shocks. Nothing really special, just an advertising ploy.

It means: "We're putting this decal on your truck, so we can charge you more money."
Actually, it's supposed to be stiffer rate springs, stiffer shocks, wider rims, and a couple of other 'insignificant' items. (See first comment.)

they aren't that great off road, I got the ugly green thing stuck in the driveway, yes the DRIVEWAY.

Z71's are purty little trucks, though. I wouldn't mind getting one for my grandma. (As long as she don't take it off-road...
