Angry brake proportioning valve??? 1990 b2 4x4

I cannot get any brake fluid to the rear of my truck. I have rulled out everything but the propotioning valve. It seems to be the problem. I have searched countless places only to find that it is not available. They do offer some after market valves but they appear to be manually operated. I do not know if this will work since my valve has electrical connections. I assume this is for the brake warning light. Is there a way to rebuild this valve?? I may have a hard time getting one from a junkyard. Does anyone know of ANY site or place that stocks these items? I guess I am one of the unfortunate 1 in a 1,000,000 that had one go bad.

After further investigation...I have found that it isn't a proportioning valve either. It was called an anti-skid valve. It must have been an early abs type system. The only place I can find with a new one is ford itself. It would cost me 192.00 +tax. I guess I will be searching the junkyards. Does anyone know of this valve and if it can be fixed? Is it possible to bypass it? How would this affect the braking???

Are you sure the rear rubber brake hose is not plugged? It's a fairly common problem for the front hoses.

I've been told that if you want your brakes to work right you need the RABS valve and it's only available from Ford. I have a problem with mine right now, too. The rear brakes get fluid ok, but the piston in the valve doesn't always return so one or both of the rear brakes will stay locked up after a harder than average stop. I don't know how many more times I can get out of the truck and "tap" that thing with a hammer to make it let go before I finally give in and fork out the cash for a new one. I've also heard you can bypass the valve with the manual prop. valve from James Duff or just use rubber brake line extensions and no valve at all. That would probably work for occasional 4-wheelin but not too safe for daily driving.

Thumbs up latest progress...

ok, I flushed all the lines and blew air thru. Since I still had front brakes I drove it around the service road here. I had great pressure in front brakes until I slammed the brakes. I then checked the back brakes again and had fluid this time. I took the skid valve off again and flushed it with brake clean. A fair amount of dirt came out. I then blew it out with air. After I reinstalled the valve and bled the lines everything was fine. I suppose the cellinoid opens when certain conditions are met during driving. good luck with the sticking. I would try cleaning it out like I did.

Ya know, I never thought of that. Seems smart, though. Definitely worth a try if it could save a couple hundred bucks!
