Aggressive/Tall Tires

I'm looking for tall tire with aggressive tread, I have 33X12.5 on 15s any suggestions for a tall or taller but narrower tire?

You are going to have a hard time filling that bill. The only major brand that still makes 33X9.50X15 is B.F. Goodrich. Unfortunately, the taller the tire, the wider they become. An alternative would be to go to a 16 " rim such as a 285X75X16 to get a 33" tall tire. I just replaced 4 33X9.50X15 Kelly tires on my '78 after searching warehouses for about a month. Somebody had ordered the tires from the warehouse and never picked them up. I had to buy all four tires to get the two that I needed.

I have a set of 285/75R15 (33x9.50) buckshots, so those may still be available. It seems like the tall, narrow tires are harder to find, and that's what I like as well. A lot more options on those in 16s. You might look around for some used 16" steel wheels and get lucky. Lots of cheaper brands like maxxis and summit in 33 and 34 x 9.50 for 16s. My latest set are very aggresive 285/75r16 retreads from HiTech Retread. I'm very happy with those so far for half the price of new tires. My truck won't see a lot of highway, so the retreads are ok for me.

The Super Swamper TSL Q78's are a 9.5 x 35.5.

Awesome tires, but are poor on the highway. They have some Radial TSL's that are in the size range too, they're a little better for road use.

i had 36" Super Swamper TSL's Bias ply and they road better at 50mph then at 20mph, i think the trick of that was having the tires Powder balanced, so when ever it would become unbalanced the powder would automatically balance it out. You dont have to worry about weights falling off when you wash, offroad or regular driving conditions. But make sure when u check for air pressure the valve is at 12 oclock (or close to it) so the powder dosnt come out and glog the valve!

I dont like radial tires because it easy for that steel cord to brake and its bye bye tire. Also look at the LTB's tread width is only 9.25" on the biggest tire. 34x10.50-16LT It has good load range too! 3195lbs!

I'm a fan of the skinny tire too, I'm running TSL 32-9.50's on my Cherokee and am going to 34-9.50's pretty soon, they're perfect for the offroading I do.

"I dont like radial tires because it easy for that steel cord to brake and its bye bye tire."

FordBronco69, I assume with that statement you're just referring to Swamper radials?

So, do they perfoem better in off road or snowy conditions because of they're width?

50-50 off road vs pavement. With sticking with 15's I shouldn't have a problem with filling the wheel well too much. I appreciate all your info. thanks

Yes...those radial Super Swampers arnt worth a damn due to the steel cord...i never offroaded my bronco when i had it and i ripped the cord with still 19/32 tread left on the tire, went bias and never looked back.

Just want to second the Maxxis recommendation. I have 265/75/16 buckshots, and love them. NO problems with getting stuck in mud or snow, and they do have a skinny aggressive tread.

The widder the tire gets the more it will "float" on snow. Ive hit plenty of snow drifts and got sucked right into a ditch!

The thinner the tire gets the more it will "cut/slice" threw snow making it a good snow tire...but most generally the thinner the tire is the smaller the O.D. is.
