Brake Problem showed up again......
Thanks to those who sent a welcome. This is my second post.
I have a 99 Ranger with 125,000 miles. The ABS light came on. Pulled the back brakes and found both adjuster cables either off or broken. Replaced shoes and hardware, (springs, adjusters, ect) A week later, left rear tire would lock up when truck was parked for a few hours. Needed to use 4-wheel drive to get it to move. Would roll backwards with no problem, but would lock and slide when moved forward. Onced loosened up, it would work fine.
Replaced drum because of wear lip on inside. Thought lip was grabbing primary shoe causing it to engage brake. Worked fine for three days, probably until the self adjuster took up the slack. It locked up again the other day.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you using the emergency brake just prior to when the wheel lock-up occurs? Maybe it's related to the e-brake mechanism. Sometimes they will grab and not let go when it gets cold out. Otherwise I might suspect a sticky wheel cylinder on that side.
