Down the center line of the windshield.

Is this a new windshield or an old one with no old mark?

mount it where you can see out of it. Depends on what you have in the bed, how tall you are, etc.

I read on this forum ( can't find it now ) for a 1980-1986 Bullnose F-150. They said : 30.5" from driver's side of WINDSHIELD to the center & 30.5" from the passenger side to the center..then 4-7/8" down from the top. I bought a fixer upper previous people had been attempting, has a new windshield & no mirror or reference residue on the windshield..I marked those measurements with a magic marker & they seem close enough , or pretty dang close ..Everyone says make sure your sun visors work unobstructed. Now try putting that glue on the magnet with surgical gloves on. Clean the glass with lacquer thinner or carburetor cleaner on a clean rag/ thick fold of paper towels ( I guess ) If anyone can correct this....PLEASE DO !

I dont know about the measurements but I kind of hold it up in place and make sure the visors clear and then mark the glass with a grease pencil.
Then I go to the out side and mark the glass where the inside mark is because when you wash the glass inside that mark will be wiped away.

I followed the directions on the glue package to stick the metal part to the glass. I waited 24 to 48 hours before I mounted the mirror to the metal part and have not had any problems.
I will say make sure the glue is fresh as I think old glue will not hold too good.

Mounting windshield mirror..put mine on this morning. 11-19-2025.followed package instructions..Dorman # 75451 mirror button adhesive kit..Did it their way.. Is holding..New mirror ..tight ball joint dab of white lithium probably wouldn't hurt. Hold everything to adjust to avoid too much stress..I measured approximately 30" L...30" R...5-6 +/- down .. in between visors with clearance.. It's working out . So hope it stays .. Appears to be fine.. Now dealing with the wiper blade issue that the left is different than the right.. both 18"...will check it out.. find out if it's true or not.. That's absurd ..both should be the same.. if not , will convert it so both sides will take any universal 18" blade. Not putting up with two oddball blades..Not running all over town or special ordering nit picky blades. Want universal simplicity for easy survival..Sun will eat a $20 wiper blade in 14 months. The advantage to old school wiper arms you can collect spares and they are QUIK CHANGE..I'd park the whole truck in a giant pastry bag and keep in my sock drawer if I could.

I have been using solely motorcraft windshield wipers since my truck was new. I buy them in pairs but install them only when they come apart. They last longer than any wiper I have ever used, more than a decade. Impressive wipers for sure. They do change the style over time. Right now I have the latest design on the passenger side and a 10+ year old one on the driver's side. I have a replacement for the older one behind the seat but I'll wait till the driver's side fails before replacing. I give motorcraft wipers a 5 star rating. Yeah they are 20 bucks each but good for at least a decade or more. On other vehicles I'd replace blades every two years. Nothing compares to motorcraft wipers in my experience.

A lot depends on where you live and if you keep the car / truck in a garage most of the time.
I dont buy the cheap ones or the big dollar ones and I an tell you in the summer heat & sun here in NC wiper rubber does not last long at all.
I know I replaced the CV wipers when I bought it back in Feb as they did not work too good, did not know how old they were and was going on a long trip.
Car does sit outside so it gets sun, heat, etc. Same for my Durango but I dont remember when I changed them out.
Now the pickup is kept in the garage so the wipers last longer but cant remember when I replaced them either.

When they dont clear like they should and I have used rubbing alcohol to clen them a few times I replace them always in pairs as I like to see what AHole is pulling out in front of me.

I do live close to the 49th parallel but it rains a lot here so the wipers get a workout. I do garage my truck these days but even with parking outside they last more than 10 years easy. Try a set of motorcraft wipers. You can thank me for the tip in ten years when they are still wiping like new.

Left & Right wiper blades? They both appear identical ...

Yes both our truck they are the same size, dont remember what that is but you can go 1" longer, 1/2" at each end, would be ok too.
