It will largely on the casting they are using. Some things may or may not be compatible like a using a factory roller cam, lifters, spider, dogbones, etc... I would call Summit and ask, that way you know for sure.
Speed density feeds fuel and adjusts timing to set parameters, and can't adjust for large changes that go with performance engine building. Some guys have had good luck with making speed density work, but you have to know what you're doing. Mass air let's the fuel and timing adjust itself, to go with the actual requirements of the engine. Sometimes larger volume injectors are even needed with mass air. Some vehicles did come with mass air, and you didn't say what vehicle you want to build this engine for. Mass air casn be retro fitted from other vehicles, or a kit can be purchased to swap over to mass air, using an aftermarket harness and stock or performance parts.
Yeah, your truck is speed density. That's a good kit for power, but won't work well for you, unless you know a speed density specialist, or convert to mass air.
Do you know of any kits out there that are a good choice for my truck???
How hard/whats involved with a mass air/speed density swap???
I heard that ford injectors are color coded for what p.s.i they are? if this is true what is the color of stockers (mine are orange by the way) or was the guy feeding me a load of bull??
I've been into 5.0 mustangs for quite a while and svo makes a kit to convert from speed density to mass air. It isn't cheap, but you know the saying " If you wanna go fast...". To build that much power you'll also have to upgrade to a larger M.A.F. and throttle body, and most likely 24lb/hr injectors... stock is 19lb/hr. The increase amazing, but you have to fork over the cash.

Another reason it won't work is the kit is meant for a 5.0 H.O. engine and ECM, which has a different firing order than the truck 5.0. You would need to convert the engine management to a H.O. system (I day-dreamed about putting one of these in my van...)
I'm not looking for racing I'm looking for pulling power (if I'd done the research I'd have found a 3/4 of 1 ton with a big block) I keep the speed at about 70, (wow, I'm 19 and going slow I think I'm getting old ) I want umph not vroooommm.
