6637 filter swap

i jus want to make sure that I'm getting everything right...today i went to napa and ordered the "6637" air filter ($35?) and he had no description of it but it's coming in tomorrow and I'm going to take a look at it...he said that it was an all-purpose filter or something like that and it should be a giant 4" inlet filter right??? Also, what size clamps would i need because I'm assuming that the stock ones wont fit and I jus take off the top of the air box and clamp it right to the Intake hose and it should lay on top of where the old filter used to sit?? thanks

You'll have to pull out the whole air box. I just put mine in not too long ago, the thing is huge!

I was lucky and able to fit mine in with the stock clamp on the inlet pipe. If you can't get it to fit that way, you'll need to get rid of the little rubber nipple thingy (for lack of a better word) that sits where the clamp is. Look on the pipe and you'll see it. Another alternative is to get a 4" piece of exhaust pipe and clamp it between the filter and intake inlet.

What do you do with the Filter Minder? Are there any other sensers in there that need to be reconnected somehow?

The filter minder is zip tied next to the fender well. It does nothing whatsoever.

The air temp probe is zip tied to what's left of my bottom tray of the original airbox (just a small suport bracket and tray is left). The air filter sits on top of that tray and the air temp is right next to the filter, so it's getting temps of whatever is being sucked into the filter.

Completly degrease the part of the rubber hose that fits over the air filter flange so it will not work it's way off. It's much easier to remove the hose from the engine and stand up the filter vertically and put your arm inside of the boot and work it on with both hands, one on the inside and one on the outside until fully seated. Then tighten the clamp, reinstall and enjoy!
