02 F350 psd...when I first crank the truck in 30 or below weather the gas pedal does nothing until the truck warms up. At full throttle it barley raises the tach.Any ideas?????
I've noticed this happening on my F250 when the EBPV is closed and the engine has not warmed up yet. I now test the throttle when leaving for the first time when cold to see if it is happening so that I do not try to merge into traffic and find out that I can not go faster than 25 MPH. Usually if I plug in my truck, this does not happen. But if I forget or I'm at work, I just drive it around for a minute or so, and then its warmed up and off I go. You can unplug the EBPV to see if that is causing your problem.
I've also noticed that on very cold days, the EBPV will cycle on and off, and I will see the boost almost go to zero when it does.
I have no such problem with my truck, no matter if it's -40 or 50 degrees, the throttle always works the same.
When the EBPV closes, power is down some, certainly not to the point of it being undriveable, but, the EBPV should open when you get on it, I know mine will, there's been a few times I've needed full power while it was still closed to get my butt out of getting rear ended.....
I work with a guy who has the same year truck and he actually had a similar issue with his 7.3 F250. According to him there isn't a cable from the pedal like on the older vehicles. It has a sensor and the throttle is controlled electronically. I am not sure to the extent of the truth on this but it is a thought.
