Well my bed is off so I can fix the wood floor. Going to pull the fenders and splash gaurds so I can do some wireing and it makes it eaiser to work on . Been cleaning the frame found no rust so I going to sand blast and repaint the frame after i pull the rear end for work. Then I thought how sill a half clean framewould look.
That cab looks easy to get off and I have have a JD410 backhoe. Anybody done this any hints . I want to redo the frame completly and this would also make it easer to work on the tranny.
Its an 1986 F150 4X4 300 inline (mtn Motor)6 ,4 speed (Granny 1st). Runs great except that the carb demands a reuild every year. The body is rough and spraycan black.
Oh yea only 126,436 Oringnal miles truck has been stored most of its life as it was only used to haul my small cabover camper and flat bed with two fourwheelers in tow. The truck still pulls like crazy and gets 18 mpg towing or not (low gears)but its not the fastest either . I could go over the grapevine out off la and it never got below 60.
