I was going to but after re-thinking it I figured I'd save the doubler for my trail rig. I really don't need to be crawling THAT slow in this truck for any reason and I'd prefer not to have another set of gears robbing horsepower on the street.

just get a bigger motor i like having all the options i can! my truck honestly is more of a mud truck than anything else but when i do get it on some rocks i know a doubler would make my life so much easier. not to mention everyone wonders why i would have 3 sticks but have an auto tranny... they flip out when they see hardcore stuff like that (they are sheltered) lol
-cutts-
ya know, i just read your sig at the bottom and i had forgotten just how close our rigs are! other than body stlye and year we are basically rolling the same setup!
I'm building that truck to go FAST, not slow. I just don't see the need for it as I'll never take that on anything that requires a 4:1. That's why I'm building a beater rig and I'll double that case. I'll have horsepower o plenty here soon but I'd rather not have it eaten up in another gear set that I'd never use. Imagine that . . . me being practical. But then again it's me we're talking about here. I might get drunk, decide it's a good idea after all, and then tear the truck apart. By the time I sober up and realize what I've done the t-case is laying on the work bench so I may as well finish the job.

is this a mud bog only truck, or is it going to be a mall krawler?
39.5" Iroks ... come on now! i can't afford anything bigger or i would have the 48" XML's like i have been drooling over for the past year or so. only thing is the custom 20" double beadlocks will break the bank!
How much did it cost you? And did you have to get a special yoke made for the pinion or did their CV fit the stock pinion yoke?
well the cost was about 2000$ and the yoke will not work you will order flanges for both the t-case and the dana 60 they are like 100$ each ill get a pic of the shaft for you on sat if this helps
I was going to make some smart *** comments about the price including a jar of vaseline but I won't. Did you try HighAngle or anyone else? That price is way out of line. I thought $600-$800 for a custom shaft was high . . .
This truck is for the mud but I'll do a fair amount of street driving with it. I was hoping to turn the pinion up today but haven't had the time and have to work through until my St. Louis trip so it may be a while before I can get to it.
When is the St. Louis trip? I'm starting to think I need to head down there so you can laugh at my 30" tires. And my Smallblock. Manual Tranny. Non-NP TC...ok so you can just laugh at my half ton. =P Mine might be louder...bout all I can hope for. I was gonna make a thread to ask when the trip was again..but I didn't want to be an ***. This is assuming I can actually FIND where momudder lives.
I get down there next Friday morning and will be leaving Monday. I just PM'd Mo to see what he has going. I'll probably be meeting up Sunday and/or Monday.
