A half inch breaker bar will gernade at about 200 ft lbs or less. I used to work on Vw's well still do, and the nut on the rear wheel was 400 if I remember. I had to really try with my 4 foot torque wrench. A 1/2 inch breaker bar with those two little ears on each side would just snap without an extension. So I repeat myself on your behalf use a 3/4 breaker bar pole type or an impact gun. you are prob getiing to 200 ft lbs especially with all the flex.

I know, I didn't have much of a choice though without great inconvenience. I know I've got a lot more than 200 pounds on it though, and it didn't fail, soooo... but I won't do it again, I promise.
