bvoncannon......I thought he was going to give that poor ol' gal a heart attack on tv that night. She worked her whole life at that plant and had saved some "pretty neat" looking potato chips. How those fragile things ever made the trip to Hollywood from Indiana without breaking, will never know??? Then Carson and Ed team up on her....LOL!!!

Johnny Carson was, still is, and forever will be, the king of late night TV. He set the bar for everyone else in the business. I remember staying overnight at my grandparents as a kid. It was always a treat to stay up late and watch the Tonight Show with them. He was a classy guy and put a quality show on. I wouldn't let a little kid watch any of the late night shows anymore. I can still remember a few of those Karnac skits. SO FUNNY!!!!!! I've gotta get a couple of those Carson DVD's.

God Bless You Johnny. Rest in Peace.

Chris

What a good man, he started so many people's careers just by giving them a break on his show. Sinefield, Joan Rivers, Jay Leno, and so many others would not have been what they are today without him. What a funny person who holds such a dear spot in everyones hearts. God Bless you Johnny.

I wasn't even aware that he had passed away until I saw a little farewell screen during the Pats/Steelers game. Although I never saw many of his shows (I was 9 when he retired) he always seemed very kind, gracious, and generous in the clips I've seen. And the few Karnak skits I've seen were hilarious. "She Ba-Boom. What is the sound of a sheep exploding?"

Gods Speed Johnny

He'll be missed for sure. My name, Spikedog, is in honor of his character, Art Fern. He'd always do the intro for an imaginary matinee "...and Spike the wonder dog in ...".

Made me want to do comedy, although I don't get paid. Just an open-mike night here and there. Might have to get a few DVD's of his best shows.

I didn't watch his show or do I watch leno. I watch letterman myself.

but anyhow I was looking on ebay and there sure is a lot of 1 day listings for johnny memorabilia. I think that is a very sad thing.
