What is the recommended trans. filter change interval? I know the fluid is 30K. I have just short of 60k on my 2000 X and was considering changing the filter along with the fluid this time. Also, someone told me that ther's a drain in the TC to allow it to be drained. Is this true?
I changed my Fluid/Filter at 30K per the FTE procedure link. I took my filter apart to see what was in it.
I found some yellow paint specs, likely from the markings on the parts from the factory. Also, if you look at the filter in bright sunlight, you can see the slight gray coloring in the filter where the dirt is collected. Even though the filter is not real dirty, certainly I could tell where it was collecting and that build up to me says it is worth the change. Keep good flow and the tranny appreciates it! It does not take much to change it and is not that expensive, so I would recommend it every fluid change which is every 30K.
