Clunk in front end?
I have a 2002 Excursion 7.3 diesel, w/100 extended warranty. My problem is the vehicle has developed a clunking/ metal to metal sound when I make shrp turns into driveways, and go over any bump, trickey thing it only happens in the summer when it is hot, cold nothing! I heard it might be a body mount, dealer has heard, but say's Ford won't authorise warranty unless they are 100% sure of the where the noise is originating, some people have said it might be a broken shock mount or shock, but if that was the case wouldn't I hear it all the time? I have heard other truck owners complain of the same noise, Ford seem's to look the other way on noise issues. Anyone out there that has had the same thing, or any suggestions? By the way it is under the passenger side floor board area, can feel it as well.
