Water leaking into the Cab

On a 66 F-100 what are the main sources for water to be coming into the cab?

Thanks.

Open doors?

Ha....sorry, it was an....open door.

I would think door rubbers would be a big part of it.

As opus indicated, as the window gaskets and door seals weather, they begin to leak. If detect leak and not due to weather, then likely the heater radiator. Still available and not difficult to replace. Just need to take care with the insulation when dismantling.

The water leak is just rain water with the doors shut. lol I just replaced my heater core. Are there any other areas prone to leak? Cowl vents etc.?

how about the windshield wipers? Is the motor mounted under the dash on a 66?

I just installed both pivot arm gaskets. The wiper motor is under the dash.

Ford Blue how are the front and back window gaskets? On my 66 F-100 I put in new window seals and the front one leaked at the lower right corner until the new rubber heated over the summer and expaned into place. Also around the back of the cab where the roof was put on the caulking was gone it leaked.

Cab leak

You might want to check the seal around your radio antenna.

bertha,

My front and rear windshield seals are the original seals. They have seen better days. I knew I was going to replace them. I just wanted to make sure all other possible leaks were covered and I would get all the new seals at one time and replace them at one time. Have you ever had your cowl vent leaks?

Thanks for all the help

Ford Blue,
No my cowl vents have not leaked, but the winshield did. When I put in the new front seal in it also leaked until the heat from last summer set it. Now that I have the truck down for paint I will most likely have to go trough it agin. But while I was talking it apart I fond that the caulking around the roof and back of the cab was gone.

With a new windshield and seal I still get leaks in driving rain from the top and bottom of the windshiled on the right side. I also get a small leak from the right wiper arm because I haven't replaced the gasket there and the curious thing is the water runs inside and down the dash brace, reaches the front lower lip of the dash, and then traverses the exact distance till it finds my leg.
