Help ID transmission
I just bought a truck (77 F 100) with a auto trans from a 85 F 250 and a 302 from an 84 Mustang GT (or so I was told). Anyway how do ID this mystery trans? The previous owner had no clue what it was. I can tell it had some electronic stuff on it and I think it is an aluminum case (I just checked it out with a flashlight). The truck is running crappy and the linkage is loose so I can't tell if it is shifting 3 or 4 times. It lost a quart in 30 miles and 2 days so I have some work to do! So if anyone knows an easy way to ID this thing (pan shape or bolt #) or another website with some pics please let me know.
