About a month ago I topped the trans up in my truck, it had been leaking just a little and I thought it might of been alittle low. Well the nice dipstick never shows a good reading so I just guessed. Well it must of been over full because the next day I drove it to the store and when I was backing it in the drive it was puking fluid everywhere, not out of the front though so I know its not the seal. It was coming from up top (guessing e4od's have a vent up top like a chevy trans, I know nothing of ford trans). So it kept puking fluid that day, when I'd park it and then it started to drop off some. But it's still leaking a spot about 3" in diameter within 5 minutes of shutting it off.
Today I got under there to see if it was the pan (I've been having trouble with the pan ever since i bought it), well theres still fluid all on the side of the trans, and fluid is everywhere so I can't really tell where it's coming from. The trans shifts mushy like always and stays at 160.
Any suggestions as to why it would still be leaking fluid like crazy? This is the third pan gasket i've put on there (first one was a junky gasket so I changed it out again with a good felpro and it still leaked so I did it one more time and checked the pan for flatness and it seemed fine....I hate e4od's
I don't think it's pushing it out of the dipstick seal, it'd deffinitly coming from the upper area of the trans, the whole passenger side of the trans is covered in fluid. Where's the vent at on an e4od? Up top?
