I have been looking for weatherproof connectors for a long time now and ran across a site the other day.
performancesolution (i think its a .net)
I ordered a catalog and hope to see it soon. I am looking for the "weatherpack" type connectors that can be used on the exterior. Until the other day, the only source has been the junkyard. I dont like to use connectors from the j-yard because of the need to solder or splice them into the new harness. Kind of defeats the purpose of going the extra mile to me.
Not sure if your still looking but figured I would throw this out there as I sure would have liked to have known of a source a year ago........Later, Slowgo
Thanks, weatherpacks are very nice under the good. Do you know what the max wire guage they handle? I don't think I ever tried to use one for anything much larger than 16GA. Just curious.
One more point. Weatherpacks are nice, but they are way more expensive than the Newark offerings that George posted, and completely unnecessary in the interior. If it were an issue at all, a modern car equipped with ECM, where good conductivity is absolutely critical, would use weatherpack connections in the interior. They do not. It's extreme overkill. But weatherpacks are the way to fly under the hood where they can carry appropriate amperage for the circuit.
i was just reading the start of this post and it seems you guys know all about the Tyco plugs, and matching part numbers and where to get them. I work for Tyco and im sure i can buy the parts cheaper direct and pass this along to the members that are interested. i need more of a list so i can look into price. My plant makes all the but conectors and lugs. Well just a thought! RT

Can you print out the list that George typed? That selection would be more than adequate for most of our needs. Only thing else I can think of would be a connector that would handle wire in the 10-12 GA range. 1-4 plugs for these. Or whatever is available. Glad you came along. I have an order at work all ready to go. I just got side tracked and haven't placed it yet.
