I have been trying to get the input shaft lined up with the clutch and pilot bearing for about 2 hours now... Anyone have any tips for doing this? The alignment tool slides in fine but when I try to put the tranny in it seems like it moves the clutch out of alignment with the pilot bearing... PLEASE HELP!!!
Try putting the transmision in forth when installing this helps u spin the output shaft which will turn the input shaft. You should be able to slide it right in by doing this. What type of tranny is it? Also don't make the miistake by trying to force it in with bolts, this could only damge it...but if you use a piece or two of threaded rod kinda of a guide coming out of the bell housing bolts this helps alignment too. Kinda keeps the tranny in line physically with everything. Hope this helps, let me know how u make out.
Later,
Chris
