The Ford speaker itself hinges and install by swinging it upward and gets locked in place by two arms that lock into the bracketry.

It appears that they may have changed the installation to a screw tyope system that goes through the package tray area of the dash and screw into the speaker carriage on each end.
The factory dash speaker size is 5X7. I used a factory 5x8 speaker out of my '97 Tbird and it works great. I had to drill two holes on the ends of the bracket for it to mount to the dash. If you buy any 5x7 speakers, make sure they have the two forked mounting tabs on the ends of the bracket. Some 5x7's have those tabs, some don't.
As Mil1ion said, two screws hold the speaker to the dash.
Thanks guys! I'll give the JCW's a try, the price is right at least and the screw hole location looks the same. I dont mind doing a little modification if I have to but the less modification the better.
