Help, I'm new at this do please bear with me...I have a 99sd w/137k on it and just started experiencing missing/skipping/misfiring ..mainly under load, generally not at idle, not a continuous thing, just sometimes. I dont have any check engine light on, & really baffled at what it could be, any help, suggestions, recommendation or just thoughts on the problem would be appreciated,,,tks
I had a 5.4 in an expedition and presently in my 99SD. Both have had the similar problem and everytime it's been a coil pack. The problem is that the only way to find the issue is by putting on a computer. I tried other ways without success. New coils with labor tend to get costly. I haven't yet but other guys have posted that they have used "used" (from junk yards) coil packs!!! I don't know if I would try it or not!!
