Clutch repair

I Have a 2000 F-250SD 4WD 6 speed manual transmission with 103,000 miles on it. I am planning a cross country trip this summer towing a 10,000lb 5th wheel, Should I change the clutch or not worry about it?

Check your clutch disc to see how much is left on it.

Don't want to steal your thread, but related: how do you know how much left is okay/worth a change--never seen a new one, so I don't know how thick they typically come.

rhodie, Most new clutch disks have grooves cut into them. If the grooves are gone it's only a matter of time before it starts slipping.SLM-F250, If you only have 103,000 on it i'd say your clutch is probably ok unless you ride it a lot or there have been some inexperienced manual trans drivers driving it.
