Greetings from Baghdad !

Nice to get a pm from one of our members this morning with that title !

Here's the gist of what he said:

JD,
Sorry I am so late in responding to your PM. I rarely log on as I have little to add to anyone else's inquiries and my own questions have already been answered. I do however try and read all Excursion related posts on a weekly basis. ..... I have made a comprehensive list of all the aftermarket mods I want to add......
As elections approach here in Iraq things continue to get busier and somewhat more dangerous. Otherwise, life is grand here... I hope all is well with you and your family. Take care brother, Big Lou
***********************************

I am stunned by three of his statements
1) Here is a guy in Iraq that is apologizing for not responding faster AND sending well wishes to US !!!!!
2) He thinks he has little to add - I, for one, would appreciate his post so we can hear it first hand... not with the obvious media bias...
3) and one that I consider private and know that he and others there NEED our vocal support....

Thank you Big Lou !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am humbled at your service !

jdadamsjr, please send our best wishes and deepest gratitude to Big Lou. Seems that the only positive news we get from Iraq comes directly from our folks on the ground and not the media.

Yep. I guess that the media hadn't caught on to the fact that we or on to 'em, huh?

If it's not melodramatic, it don't sell - and don't make the beloved ratings.

Very creative King! It's good to hear positive things come out of Baghdad and surrounding areas. The media deprives us of what we need to hear... encouraging things in the sense that we're making progress as a whole in that part of the world, which is why I think some Americans don't support our president's decision. I've yet to hear more than 2 positives things on the news about what's going on over there. It seems that the only good that I hear comes from the soldiers themselves. Stay strong Big Lou. We so greatly appreciate our military's efforts and courage. God bless

Thank you for your service, Big Lou. I cannot possibly say something powerful enough to express the admiration I have for these folks. God bless all of you, and stay safe.

Thanks for sharing! I believe we all know our greatest gift is our children, who then grow-up to do phenomenol things like wear the uniform. Ooo-Rah Lou!

"Media is something used to SANDBLAST", a quote from a Gunny Sgt., 1973 Long Binh when ask by a correspondent to comment on an overnight Viet Cong raid. I've never heard a better truth.

This is a good thread so far. I think it's grand that we honor those among us who have chosen to serve. So please, let's keep any emotional or negative political themes out of the equation and keep the thread alive.

Big Lou .. take care bro ...we'll see ya when you get home.

WE ARE THE LAND OF THE FREE.

BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.

If you can read this thank a teacher. If you can read this in English thank a soldier

In loving memory of Spec. James Wolf 1982-2003 U.S. Army.

May God hold all of our people serving in the palm of his hand.

And for those that survive the ultimate sacrifice ....

THANK YOU for allowing us to share your grief and the good memories of them...

We all know the cost of war, we all know that some insane people (sometimes called insurgents) will not allow us NOT to fight so we MUST appreciate and honor thoses that do !
