Thank you, Lou! Your service to your country is greatly appreciated. Tell everyone over there thank you from Josh Ludlum and everyone I know! Come back safe and God bless.
Wow! Had I known there was so much love going around I would have posted something myself. Guys, you rock! I let my team read all the posts and even they were touched. Loved the poem. The media and even some soldiers here would lead the public to believe that life is horrible in Iraq. For some, at times I am sure it is. I have been fighting wars for ten years and the average living conditions in Iraq far exceed anything I have seen. Granted it depends to some degree where you live and who you work for. As for the media. They are here to get ratings. The truth is out there but they don't have it. Everything we fight we kill. The enemy is afraid so they resort to terrorist tactics like carbombs and suicide bombers. These type of attacks are almost impossible to defend against while trying to pacify the population. We cannot achieve desireable results here without the support of the people and we will certainly not gain that if we shoot every car or person wearing a coat. The war is won. No one in the world can defeat us on the field of battle. However, stabilization operations and restructuring are much harder and dangerous. These people have no concept of democracy or the notion that "the harder you work the more money you make". They are lazy to the core and I trust none of them. Even the Afghanis were more self motivated. I would love to answer any questions you guys have. I am fortunate to have daily internet access and an international cell phone. You guys take care and hopefully I will see some of you next summer, Lou
BIG LOU, nice to have you come on line. It is nice talking to some one on our side instead of the media. I just want to say GOD BLESS to you and ALL our troops. Looking forward to having you and all our men home. Watch your back and be safe!!!!
Big Lou!
My thought and prayers are with you and all of our military men and women. I am very appreciative of your service. It is due to the honor and valour of men and women like you that I have the freedom to sit here at my desk and write what I want to you UNCENSORED! I will always respect and honor the brave men and women who have protected that freedom. Be safe and "KICK BUTT!"
I've been in the IT industry for 20 years and I'm still amazed about things like getting a note on a free web site about trucks from a guy fighting a war in Iraq.
I was having lunch with my boss and his son called on his cell phone from Iraq also.
I see lots of complaints about the coverage from the US media. Anyone tried watching BBC world news. It's by no means better or worse but it's nice to see another perspective.
to jdadamsjr,
thanks so much for sharing this. We all appreciate our boys over there and want to know the truth about all of this.
to Big Lou,
keep your head down son and come back home whole and intact to us. God bless you and all of our figting men and women all over the world. Our prayers and best wishes go out to each and every one of you. Stay safe.
Big Lou, becarefull. Always expect the worst. My prayers go out daily for all of our Sevrice people. A part of my family will always remain over there by the blood of my Nephew, Spc. James R. Wolf. Killed Nov 6, 2003. It's still hard to hear of the death of any of our Troops. I ask that God shall put a wall around you all for protection.
I am married to one heck of a soldier and my heart goes out to all of the men and women fighting my husband will be seeing you soon. Watch each others backs and bring everyone home safely. God bless our soldiers and their families.
Big Lou, Thanks for your unselfish works in OIF and those of all our Militery and DOD civilians in theater also. I spent some rough times in Taqaddum AB (aka TQ) from March to August 04 and 1st MEF and 1st ID where who I supported as a DA civlian tech rep for the tactical voice and data switching n systems. Pray you and everyone stay safe and a speedy return back to the homeland. Wish we a had a "salute the flag" emotioncon. Anyone on the boards who can make one for tthe site?
I however cannot accept sole responsiblity for the elections going as well as they did. Truthfully, I had nothing at all to do with it. I spent most of my day flying around Baghdad in a Blackhawk pulling security for various persons of importance. It was great to see the people out and happy. I have become well acquainted with Sheppard Smith from FOX over the last few weeks and that guy is right on it. If you have to watch the news, Shep and Geraldo are right on the money. Trust me, I'm here with them. My building took a rocket the other day and that was fairly unsettling as we had all suspected that our marble palace was bulletproof. Not even close. Thankfully we only lost two people in the attack. I have reached my mid point on this tour and will be travelling to Spain for a couple weeks next month. I hope to visit Portugal and Morocco as well. War is hell. I hope everyone is doing good back home. I see that Atlanta is still covered in ice. Glad I am missing that. Talk to all of you soon I hope, Cheers, Lou
PS. Can someone please, in gross detail, explain to me how to insert pictures in my posts. I would love to share some of my exploits. Grats
