rough mornings...5.4 please help!
I have a 99 EB with the 5.4 liter, 4wd. On cold mornings it has a rough idle and harsh miss. The only way i can describe it is that it feels like its running on three cylinders. Once it is warmed up it's fine. I did some searching on this site and found that the IAC valve was the likely culprit. I changed the IAC and it was a hundred times better but, it still does the same thing. It still does it when it's cold, just not as long, or severe. Once it warms up it's just fine. what else could it be? I am at my witts end with this truck. Thanks in advance for any help you might have.

im having the exact same probloms i changed the sparks plugs and it worked for about mmm 4 weeks then got even worse and started doing the rough idle thing agian but then it did it throughout the whole rpm range im going to change the fuel filter this weekend maybe its just not getting enough fuel or maybe its not getting enough air im going to change my air filter to to a k&n

Thanks for the replies. I had the spark plugs changed about six months ago. I didn't put the motorcraft platinums like I should have. Had them done before I discovered this site.
Live and learn. It wouldn't heart for me to change the fuel filter, I have never done that on this truck. I will keep you posted if I find the problem. thanks again, chris.
