I know it sounds like the IAC but here is whats going on.
2000 5.4 with 218K. On very cold mornings, it occasionaly doesn't want to start and idle up. I have to give it some gas and hold it there for about a minute, then when I let off it idles at 500rpm for a bit, then it kicks up to normal idle. I read the sticky on the main page about it, sounds like the IAC but wondered if there are any other ideas out there.
Could easily be accumulated moisture inside the IAC just freezing. A little warm up and everything works.. You could just try cleaning it, and leave it sit somewhere and dry out. Usually though replacement is the sure cure.
