service engine soon light
I just baught a 2001 F-250 Super Duty, 7.3L Diesel and replaced the air filter with a K&N air filter. The first time i drove it, the service engine soon light come on and then went off after is idled for a while. Has anyone had this problem before? I have had the truck for 3 months and put about 3,000 miles on it. It has 130,000 miles total.

Best bet would be to get it somewhere and have the codes read. Somewhere like autozone should be able to do it. Did it only do it once 3k miles ago? Could be any number of things, without the code or something else to go on we are probably useless.
The general concensus around here is that a drop-in K&N filter does not seal well and could cause some dust by (heard the term dusting?)

No. It did this today. I have put about 3k on the truck since I got it. Im thinking this problem might be with some bad fuel due to the fact this light is pretty much controlled by the OBDII. I think the computer thinks I have an emissions problem. I just put the K&N filter in yesterday so this could be it too, maybe. Thats a lot of new air flow, but I might go back to stock filters. The light goes off and on at different times. I shut it off and it will stay off for awhile.
