I have a 75 F 250 and the cab is rusted. I have a replacement cab but i don't know what im supposed to do about the vin number? Can i change the sticker from the old cab to the new one, or do i have to change my insurance info?
I did this same type project several years ago on a 68 F100. Since they were identical trucks (both F100 rangers), I just took the VIN from the old cab and put it in the new one. I contacted the local state patrol office and asked about the legality of this, and they were fine with it. You may want to check with your local law enforcement and ask them the same.
Not sure...I know nothing about the laws that far north.....Just be sure that if you swap one VIN, be sure to get them all. I can't remeber where all are located. You'll have to get the manual to find out. I don't think it would be any fun to try and explain mis-matched VIN codes!!
way down here in oklahoma, you have to have a rep. from the state tax commission come and inspect both vehicles and copy all the numbers on both, take them back to his/her office, and approve or not approve the swap, if he/she approves it, you get a new title.for a cost im sure........
