Hey Guys,
My dad has a 91 f-150, with 30,000 original miles, its driven very little. Its an auto tranny with a straight six. At times it shifts pretty hard between gears. What controls the shifting, is it electronic or vacuum. The ford dealership says they cant tell what it is untill it completely breaks. Hes elderly, and doesnt get around too good and Id hate for him to have the thing lay down on the side of the road. Thanks for any help.
Depends on the transmission, could be either a electronically controlled unit or not. Can't really tell you what might be wrong, but that's a bunch of garbage that the dealership can't figure it out until it breaks. They might have to pull it, but they can find something.
