Found an '05 Lariat Supercrew 4x4 Demo at one of the local dealers in Austin with 2200 miles on it. Its optioned out exactly as I would have ordered one and already has a spray-in bedliner and tint. The window sticker is just over $41K and the invoice is just over $36K. Any hope of paying below invoice because the car is a demonstrator? If so...how much of a discount should I expect? Thanks in advance for any help.
I just bought an 05 Lariat SC 4x and it has everything except a DVD (can't have with moonroof) I paid around 37, I'm sure some got better deals (there's always somebody). But I will say the last Demo I bought was 10k under sticker. I have bought two demo's, the first one was around 3k off invoice.
Side bar: I saw a lariat demo at a dealer late last year while I was on a job in Fort Wayne, they were only taking 4k off the sticker, besides the sales monkey being well...a monkey, it sat on the lot for 3 months that I know of.
First: check your state's lemon-law regarding demos. Some states consider them used vehicles, which means a LOT less coverage (if any) under the LL. It may be sold and titled as new, but if it's considered used for lemon-law purposes, I'd pass on it. There is no discount deep enough (in the real world) that could get me to buy it.
You can buy a new, non-demo '05 F-150 here for $500 below invoice. You'll have to figure from there how much more discount you should receive.
